3 albums in 3 months!

August 14, 2009

Sapient, and Debaser will be releasing three albums in three months for free download.

Sept. 1st Sapient: Make Morphine – The Remixes – A remix of Sapient’s entire album Make More. Features production by Rev. Shines (of Lifesavas), Budo, Simple (of Sandpeople), Oldominion veterans Mr. Hill, Smoke & Pale Soul plus many more. A different producer for each song!

Oct. 1st Debaser: Back to Work – A long awaited follow-up to Crown Control. This free download will give you a taste of what they’ve been working on. Back To Work features Rasco (of Cali Agents), Luckyiam (of Living Legends) and Detroit standout Phat Kat. It’s true. New Debaser. Suck it.

Nov. 1st Sapient: Famine Friends – Sapient’s upcoming solo album and just one more reason why he is the most prolific hip-hop act coming out of the Northwest. With 3 music videos accompanying the album, Famine Friends proves that Sape lives by his promise to “Make More”.

DJ Green ft. Doc Vaporz, Cool Nutz & IAME – “Rose”

August 7, 2009

DJ Green’s Myspace;

“Hello, my name is DJ Green. I produce music, which means I make the music side of things. No, that is not me rapping or singing; however, that is I playing the piano/drums/guitar. I have a new album out called “Demo to the World.” I tried to capture the feeling of a Portland summer day and put it into audio. I believe I succeeded with the helps of hip-hop legends the Lifesavas, Cool Nutz, and Sandpeople, as well as indie rockers Eskimo and Sons. Furthermore, I believe artists like Sol, Emerson Valetine Lyon, and Doc Vaporz, who are all amazingly gifted up-and-coming musicians, brought a refreshing sound to the album. It was an honor to work with such talent, and I’m hoping you, as the listener, will give our songs a chance.”

Odds and Ends

Tigard Times has a nice article on IAMe and his freshly released album ‘I Am My Enemy’ that you can peep here.

Hot Indie News has the song ‘Dapper Mob’ off the “Long Story, Short…” EP available for streaming. The song is accompanied by a short writeup with a quip from Sapient. Check it here.

And finally, ESPN has used Sandpeople music in their online video for the X-games Skate Street gold medal winner. I’d embed it but it’s not allowed, so go ahead and watch it here.
